At approx. 9:20 crews were alerted to a house fire located on Carroll St, Cumberland...upon arrive, CFD crew was inform that there was a lady trapped in the building, where heavy white smoke billowed from...first attempts to enter the building where hampered by a side door being blocked, the front door on fire and the rear door being locked...Cumberland firefighters were able to finally gain entry and located the victim on the living room floor...the victim was taken to the hospital and was last listed in critical condition, she was conscious when she was rescued but had apparently suffered severe injuries that included respiratory burns. The cause of the fire in still under investigation and is believed to have started to the living room...crews on scene assisting CFD were Lavale, Bowling Green, Ridgeley, firefighters from companies Wiley Ford and District 16 were on standby.

Units were alerted to a auto accident on I68 near Haystack Mt. at approx 18:00...crews from Lavale, Cumberland and Lavale Rescue responded to the scene…where two tractor trailer wreck near the 41 mile marker…Eastbound I68 was closed for about 45 minutes due to a fuel spill…crews from Hazmat, and All. Co. Police also were on scene…1 person was transported to the hospital for miner injuries..

At approx. 20:20 units were alerted to a MVC on Redhill near 84 Lumber...first units on scene confirmed entrapment and requested more units on scene...a lady was traveling eastbound and crossed the center line, hitting another car head on...3 were entrapped in one car and another in the second car...2 victims passed at the scene and a third was pronounced at the hosp, the fourth person was transported to the hosp; he was later transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma, where he is listed in critical condition...units on scene were LaVale, Clarysville and Shaft, along with LaVale and Frostburg rescue squads. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
